(photo stolen from Rab, can't be arsed to take a new one)

So this is the Blaze Storm copy of the Sledgefire- I picked this up for IIRC 12.50 in B&M. TL;DR- it is alright!

In its own right, this is decent enough. It comes with 20 darts which are very similar to voberries but it shoots elites fine. It has the exact same barrel break prime as the Sledgefire and uses removable shells in the same way. It's a little cheaper feeling but still fairly solid. Dimensions are pretty similar- the stock is actually more useufl imo but who uses the stock on one of these? The barrel break mech is kind of annoying, it's a pushbutton beside the barrel so it's not that ergonomic. It comes with a reasonably nice scope on what looks like a picatinny rail- not Nerf compatible.

In comparison with the Sledgefire, you know straight away which is the more expensive item, this one feels and looks cheaper. Losing the thumb-unlock is a big difference, the Sledgefire's obviously not the most practical of blasters but it's so satisfying- it looks and feels great. This one, well, not so much. The shell release isn't as nice either.

Performance is hard to measure correctly on a spamfire blaster. I crono'd a 3 dart salvo and got almost identical results with both blasters, but I'm highly skeptical about these results. So I juryrigged a singleshot mode by jamming 2 of the 3 slots. Here it didn't do so well, shooting an average of 68.4 vs the Sledge's 79.8. Neither test is totally representative of real world performance- tbh they'd be very similiar to use in play but the Sledge will always feel better and frankly that's the only reason to use a silly blaster like these.

Lastly, the shells sadly aren't interchangable, the XL's are shorter. They're otherwise very similar though and you might be able to figure something out.

But it's alright! I've had a bit of fun with it and I think I'm going to single it and see what sort of horror I can produce. If you have the choice you'd be an idiot not to choose the sledgefire but I still approve.

I've got a slugfire shell you can borrow for your tests if you like? PM if you're interested.

I've actually got one for the sledgefire but it doesn't fit the knockoff so it seems unfair. This way's a little bodgy/unrealistic but at least it's a fair comparison.
