Post Kombat Tactical Leg Holster  Reply with quote
This arrived this morning from Amazon, (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005RFFG2U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00) at 9.99 with free shipping it works out cheaper than a lot of the holster I had seen around directed at the Nerf market.

Firstly the build quality of this thing is excellent. Really good material ad I can see this thing lasting a long time, even if not properly looked after.

So I bought it for my Hammerstike, and at first I was worried that it would not fit, but it does, there is not a great deal of room but it is a nice snug fit.

I found the strap that goes over the top of the blaster to hold it in with a button is too difficult to undo with one hand. This slows down any fast draw, which for a secondary is not ideal. Therefore I have taken that strap off. The tight fit means the Hammershot still stays in there pretty securely.

The other problem I found was the leg strap. It has two. The top one I could not get around my thigh. I will admit I have big thighs, but as this is kit designed for adults, I thought it should be longer. The lower one does fit around my leg....just.

(This is on my right thigh, picture just taken in the mirror)

despite those two flaws, I am happy with this. As a fairly cheap not designed for Nerf purchase I can't complain. It will also holster the Strongarm, however it does catch the priming handle slightly as you put it in. Not a major problem, but it doesn't make it as smooth.

***UPDATE***

After playing a bit more with this, a few times on re-holstering the velcro has come undone. I have fixed this problem with a blob of superglue. The down side is the holster is no longer adjustable, but I cannot see another blaster replacing my Hammershot for quite a while.

How does it feel to run and generally move about in? I'm a little concerned that both blasters are sitting very high in the holster and that causes a lot of problems with retention, balance and security at speed.

Nice write up, it's always interesting to see other's insights into tactical. This is probably as good a place as any to pop a review of kit. Smile

Well, after a quick field test I would say it does pretty well. I have run around my house, up and down there stairs a few times and it is still sitting where it should.
My biggest problem was the added width on my leg going through doors, but that is going to be the same for all leg holsters.

I did get the Hammershot to fall out, but that was buy shaking my leg side to side in some sort of weird dance move. I doubt that movement would ever be replicated in any Nerf war.

I am now sat down with it holsters and there are no issues.

The true test will be getting some game time with it.

(Glad it fits in this section of the forum!)

I bought one off the link and it doesn't have the adjustable velcro and it only fits a firestrike..... No way it could fit a hammershot in any way. Are you sure thats the correct link?

Edit: I see it was the correct link, and that the beige one wouldn't fit a hammershot. I ordered the black one but i got the model of the beige one(smaller one).
