Post Longshot Pump Action Kit  Reply with quote
This is the kit I bought

It is a little bit pricey, cost me 3 times what I paid for the blaster. However I got the version with no added rails to keep the price down. It took a little while to arrive but it did get here quicker than the eBay estimate so I wasn't disappointed with that.

There is not much in the kit, but on first inspection it all seems very good quality.

Now this is what I loved about the kit, it took me 10 mins tops to install, without taking the blaster apart or moddifying in any way. The hardest part was removing the old priming handle.

Whilst this kit doesn't affect the performance of the blaster it does take what is a slightly clunky awkward blaster and turn it into something that is pretty practical. The whole thing is still fairly big, and I am sure an EAT or pumped Retaliator might be a bit more manoeuvrable, there is just something about this I like. It might be simply that it is just man sized. It doesn't feel like a kids toy in your hands, it feels like a mans toy.

When the internal kit arrived I think this could be a fairly decent springer.

So if you like the look of the longshot, and want to make it more practical with very little work, this kit is for you.

Once you upgrade the spring beyond a certain point, a pump grips the only thing making priming practical.

Ive added a few other bolt on mods to my longshot now, just got to grab a sight and it'll be done.

I really like the look of that! That is going to be a beast when the internals are upgraded.

Rab, I would love to see a complete write up of yours when it is done. I have copied you and painted the stock black.

L11, it should be done in time for BB3, so it might well make an appearance. Especially if we do some Springer's only rounds.

I look forward to seeing it in action. I know you like your paint jobs, you planning on doing anything with it or will you stick with stock colours?

The blaster looks soooo much better with a black stock, ive no idea what they were thinking with the grey one.

I've added some slydev bits to mine, a front post extension for the the front 45 degree iron sight with the corresponding rear sight on the handle tac rail. I want to stick a picatinny adapter and reflex sight on there too.

Oh and theres a new vented jam door, so you can peek through even when closed, all in black which goes really well with the ZS " teal " colour.

I know what you mean about a man size blaster, proper big boys toy feel about it and with a 14kg spring in it no way my kids can prime it.

Very cool. I ordered one of these from nerfrightarm/aldegar then got instant buyer's remorse because of the colour, he was kind enough to cancel- really good seller. But now I'm thinking maybe I should reorder... One thing I've never understood with these... What keeps the grip up? It only seems to be attached by the rails, no slide as in a retaliator pump.

I like the incredibly awkward 2 handed standard prime  Laughing I fired about 300 shots out of my 14kg oznerfnerd longshot in an evening chrono testing koosh darts, that was a workout... I can one-hand prime it but it feels like the poor thing's going to fold in half.
