Write-Up: http://captainslug.com/pcsr.html

Template Set: http://www.captainslug.com/Nerf/pcsr_templates.doc

Partlist: http://captainslug.com/Nerf/pcsr_partlist.xls

I've made three of these so far. I'm pleased with the ability to break these down without tools, though if I were to make more in the future I would probably advise that the front half be attached with at least one or two screws. Slamming the foregrip back and forth a bunch over a weekend will eventually walk the pipe out of the reducing coupler.

This design is likely to be useless to Brits. Though the design I'm working on now is likely to be compatible with materials available here as well as there.

Would it be possible to have metric templates? We can laser cut and CNC lots of the parts, tubing sizes for plungers etc we can alter but having everything in 19th century measurements makes it much harder!
Thanks for posting these though, as always amazing work.

You mean for the drilled holes?

9/16" = 14.25mm
5/8" = 16mm
1/2" = 12.75mm

The smaller drill bit sizes are going to need to be converted to pilot holes and clearance holes for tapping M3. So

#36 turns into 2.5mm
#23 turns into 3.25mm

You'll be converting those fractional inch sizes into whatever size materials you intend to use to replace those parts. All the 9/16" holes are meant to easily clear the 1/2" rod. And all the 5/8" holes are meant to hold barrel material or guide pieces for the plunger rod.

The hole in the center of the THRUST DISC is for a flanged sleeve bearing so the hole in that needs to match the OD of whatever bearing you use with it.

One funny thing to note is that the all of the "1/4-inch" polycarbonate I use to make homemades isn't actually sold in 1/4-inch thicknesses, but rather 6mm thickness.

Here are the DXF files if you want to load the parts into CAD software in order to change the hole sizes.

Interesting write up.

Although we lack the American sized pipes this has given me some food for thought as to how I can misappropriate various bits of left over blasters to build something home made.

Thanks!
