So, year end at work resulted in a small bonus, and since GuN11 is going to be a bumper session, I decided to invest in some fun things for our attendees to use...

Mega Mastodon:
I'd umm'ed and arr'ed about whether the asking price was worth it, and found a cheap one on amazon (who have since knocked it down to even cheaper), and when I asked on the chat whether I should by it, Boff said "can you imagine yourself having fun with it, if so, buy it".
It arrived in a worryingly small box, because it comes disassembled, 3 drum pieces which are a pain to fit, the cage, the side wings, and a sling... At which point its a decent size. not as large or as heavy as I expected though.
On 6 D's it chugs the mega darts out, but throw 4 imr's in, and it becomes a beast.
My summary would be "I dare you to use this and not end up giggling like a child"

I'll be honest and say I only wanted this for the mega hamp and missile hamp bits.
Mega hamp is awesome, even a half decent pump send one flying a decent range, and its the best fit for mega darts in any I have.
The missile hamp is not brilliant, its more awkward than even the Thunderblast - demolisher still wins the award for most functional launcher. The tube is annoying... Using the stock/launcher as a stand alone, it is fun, but I can't help but think you need a small rail top'ed pistol underneath the missile launcher bit.
he bolt action pistol bit is a real surprise. It's a weird mix of the retaliator and a longshot, and the slam fire function is a surprise. Performance is really good, and I'm debating whether it needs a spring upgrade.
My sumamry "buy it for the bits if its cheap"

Rivals Atlas:
I hated the first two rivals designs, and while I originally wanted a khaos, the price, conveyor belt, clip fitting issues, and lack of extra clips put me off. I liked the idea of the Atlas though, a proper shotgun style blaster, and I found one cheap on ToysRUs.
As the first rivals i'd seen/handled, I was surprised that the blue wasn't the usual Nerf blue. The balls ran everywhere when I tried to load the clip, and that clip insert/release system is HORRIBLE!
The prime is tough, imagine a roughcut/revonix, but on a 7kg omw spring... It feels like its goign to break constantly.
The balls fire satisfyingly fast, but don't seem to sting, but then roll away never to be seen again.
My summary "nope..."
