I like to think that we know what other members are capable off when it comes to Nerf but I've been wondering, what do you all do in real life?

It'd be interesting to know what y'all do for a living/what you're studying. Perhaps we can help each other outside of the hobby?

(Boff need not apply.)

I work in IT, mainly Desktop and Web developer. Multiple fields: crms, finance, healthcare, online sales, holidays, drainage, recruitment, two way sms surveys, car insurance, games, events management, telecoms, server management

Hobby wise, I am into role-playing games, big D&d fan, and spent much of my free time over the last decade supporting and printing the latest editions around the uk, and helped write 5th edition. Also a big bushcrafting fan

Don't really have time to study, due to work, eyesight, 5 kids etc

I work in education liaison/student recruitment for a university. Event organising, open days, school visits, outreach, widening access with low attainment schools and colleges and that. Basically a degree salesman  Laughing Annoyingly I don't seem to be able to leverage this into Nerf, I'd thought I'd be able to get decent access to facilities but our sports halls are oversubscribed  Mad

Nerfing, well, I'm a horrible machinist and half-assed armchair engineer. Tweaker and Enthusiast basically.  By and large, if I understand and get up some enthusiasm a thing I can fix it or improve it. Still learning the ropes though, for Nerf, but it's lighter and cheaper and less dirty than cars and bikes Very Happy

Hey Rab, you mind me asking, what brewery?

Either UKNW is trying to be soft, cuddly and supportive or really creepy. I can never tell... Razz

Yeah, I pretty much live and breathe Nerf. It's literally all I do. The transformation has stopped short of me literally shitting darts but I have been known to swallow them.

My daily routine looks a little like this:
0700-0730 - Wake up, shower in darts and the tears of LARPers who can't trigger discipline properly
0730-0800 - Breakfast of darts and wire, maybe sprinkle a DC2 on there if it's going to be a good day
0800-1000 - Read company emails, respond with dry British wit and sarcasm
1000-1230 - Package orders for dispatch by my minions to the Post Office - use flying monkeys to send orders to clients
1230-1359 - Electrical Development (burst-fire, ammo counters and unicorn poop)
1359-1401 - Give up in despair and rage at EC regulations that prevent us from doing this shit, occasionally flip a table
1401-1700 - Argue with embroidery machines and desperately try to get our patch service open
1700-1900 - Dinner and rage at players doing it wrong and not Nerfing the right way
1900-2000 - Cry into custom Nerf embroidered blanket at how people are still using TrustFires in 2016
2000-2200 - Watch Nerf related Youtube and tut a lot at how people are still doing it wrong
2200-2300 - Bang my head into a brick wall in frustration because I'm clearly an elitist twat for doing a proper
2301 - Lose consciousness, regain at 0700 the following morning, rinse repeat 7 days a week.

NB: The contents of this post MIGHT be satire. Just sayin' Razz

by day I work for a training and simulation company in the marine and power industry doing graphics and 3D visualisation

by night I work for a small graphics company doing graphics and 3D visualisation

Also, dad. more full time than I ever imagined.

if you're really interested look here - https://robertmaxwell.carbonmade.com/ - mostly old stuff as I'm knackered by NDA's and other secret keeping clauses (NB this site doesn't play well in IE, Firefox and Chrome are fine though)

This is what I do for a living.

The rest of the time I'm pretty much a full time dad.

I mostly bother Boff and UKnerfwar and talk crap on Internet forums/Discord with exciting people from around the world. Otherwise I am modding or playing.
I am also a parent and part time community worker/activist.

Sorry to go off topic,

But its beer talk 🤓

We've previously done a gluten free IPA and Belgian dubbel using sorgum grass seed syrup as a replacement for malted barley.

I can also reduce gluten to below what is classed as gluten free in just about any beer using an enzyme derived from fungus. 👾

Do we have enough expertise here to form a government, declare independence and form our own Nerf nation? We can tell the armed forces they have to fight us using Nerf blasters and, if we win, we get the whole country.
