Post Zombie Hunters Of Manchester - Post Game  Reply with quote
Lots to say about the first game so here we go.
First things first we all got there. Some a few minutes later than other but that really didn't matter.
For the first 5 mins everyone hid in there cars not sure who was who. That very quickly changes as soon as Jolt arrived in the "Havok Mobile" which had a very open Havok Fire in the window.
We then all congregated and had an informal name check and small discussion how we all got lost and had no idea this place exsisted. Then we were off!
We happened to pick up 2 people on the way on being a forty something year old footballed.(of which had stupid stamina but we'll get onto that later) and his younger son.
After Jolt had showing off Britnerf to the local youths (and his channel for that reason) we had a little walk of to a mildly secluded area which had plenty of cover and a decent sized playing feild.
After setting up and throwing the magic bag of infinity (the dart bin) the games began!
First we started with "kill confirmed" or freeze tag which worked well for people to figure out what blaster/gear they want to use. We did this for a few more rounds where i really started to hate but enjoy the sledgefire i got a few hours earlier.
Next the games really kicked off.
We started with BUZAN style hvz with a 5 second respawn timer and a 15 second immunity.
This was really unfair especially with the person we picked up earlier as ... well he didn't stop. He was purely relentless and had but tonnes of energy which we found was because he was a small time footballer.
The rules kept varying from respawn timers to invulnerability timers as the footballer really enjoyed being the OZ.
There were mild threats of who we wanted to go first but that never...that always ended with the prediction. This footage will be excellent especially with the 3 POVs we will have (look out for Jolts youtube video)
Then last we did "Black (something i can't remember) down" which was a the british version of the american "Black Hawk Down" With SAS and Terrorists.
Teams were chosen and the footballer happened to be on the SAS side. He didn't take a blaster because he said he'd be the one who grabbed the cargo (Yes it wasn't really BHD more a onside CTF but still) but we thought nothing off his no blaster strategy.
Boy were we misslead must have been a 2min game as he was in and out in a light.
This carried on for a while until we packed up and walked back to the cars.
We then had light chats and a small rant about the HyperFire (Way to much hype) and a play round with the chrono.

After a while we split ways and hopefully made it home safe.
Thanks to all that came, donated and just made the game even better.
Hope to see the same faces and more in the neer future.

That was fun but now my legs hurt. That football player had an infinite stamina and was insane during HvZ. Thanks to the person who gave me the phone holder for recording, way better than the cam ecs-12 that the GuN people use. Now I am just waiting for my BDUK stuff to arrive.

Well done Mr Kitten. You are now a successful game organiser! Good times - here's hoping there are more like you.

I think his name was Gaz Lewis. He used to get paid to play football (he showed me the youtube video of him playing against a top side!) and it showed. Him and his son loved it, so we passed the Britnerf address on to him so he can keep to date with future events.

They both enjoyed using my Rayven and Hyperfire, along with having access to multiple clips and darts. I think they're hooked!

Several other members of the public also asked what we were doing, so I told them!

The whole thing was fantastic, and it's utterly fair to say a massive "well done" to Dark Kitten for making this happen.

The field he selected was superb and just the right size for the number of people we had. The games were brilliant: Freeze tag, HvZ and Black Kes Down.

We all had fun trying out each others' blasters and had a nice chat at the end.

It was great to meet Skuzzer, Phatmaster, Mr Crane and a friend!

I have to say, I'm starting to gain an appreciation for the demolisher as a blaster. It seems accurate and I got caught off guard in terms of range, as I also sometimes do with Big Bertha!

Well done, Dark Kitten! That was fantastic and I'm looking forward to the next one! Superb!

I second Jolt's comments. Thank you and well done DK for organising.

It was great to meet you guys and cheers for letting me play with your blasters when my own got boring (I've just posted in Trading about getting a bigger primary).

All in all brilliant game choice and great people to Nerf with.

HvZ game modes were definitely my favourite, and Gaz was an incredible OZ. Even with a 20second stun he was hard to escape.

Great day.

Yeah thanks for a great day guys and also thanks very much justajolt for the firefly!

I've spent the past hour messing about with the internals and it now fires X-shot darts like an absolute beast!

Well done DK. The first event is always the most difficult. Insanely athletic zombies are amazing, just don't give them 15sec immunity!

Thank you again very much to all that came and the nice comments made.
But all in all it was the people who came and were supporting who got us where we are now instead of still in panning, and to all who brought blaster for donation, who were a good laugh and who had cool things to show off in the end it was us all who did it.

(Sorry for the super cringe)

The other guy who said what you just did prompted me to stuff IMRs into a Speedswarm till it broke!

Jolt should have his which he will likely upload his and I aught to send mine over to his.
All you need to do is wait in anticipation

Who was using the Trustfires in the Demolisher?

Can't remember if it was mentioned during the discord chat, but as a community WE SHOULD NOT BE USING THEM, and organisers should be making sure they aren't getting used. It's one reason I always bring at least 1 spare set of IMRS to GuN events!

You might also add it's inappropriate to carry out 'punishment nerfings' just because you disagree with how someone is doing things....

I took more offence to the fact the punishment nerfing was conducted against an un eye-protected victim...
