Flymo (Hailfire) in HvZ

So what problems do people have with it? I see it being bashed a lot, but after the past few nights with a member of the human team using a flymo to great effect (as a support weapon, laying down suppression where needed/charge busting) I need to ask peoples opinions.

I'm honestly considering buying one for the lolz and putting 180s in it with a swappable motor cage. I certainly have the mags to use it Smile

I don't want to sound stupid.....but what is a "Flymo"?

Hailfire Smile

Ah I see! I've found them to be super unwieldy to run and maneuver with. Additionally, you have to fire it from the hip so it's not the most accurate thing in the world.

Hence why he takes the front and covers hordes while the rest of us are clearing corners etc Smile it's the same as the Vulcan IMO, if you're going for accuracy you're doing it wrong. He also has it on a sling, so he can push it against the sling and keep it stable etc while running.

It certainly reloads easier than the vulcan. It's a passable squad heavy weapon, just not even close to a favorite of mine. I prefer stampedes over vulcans or hailfires. It was also way overpriced when it came out, but it's probably a lot cheaper now.

All of my wat o.o It's still 22.50 on Argos though.

I bought my Flymo for 12 in Argos! I find it is not as unwieldy as people think. It is no bigger than a rapidstrike, just wider and bulkier. It is not anywhere near as bulky as it looks though.

I do love my Flymo, and I know everyone in the office has one.

You can have this one here for 10 including shipping if you want. It's not doing anything but foul up the joint and annoy me. It's been re-wired and is missing the Flymo covers but otherwise it works. I think it actually has Barricade motors in it. Smile

Its a heavy beast once you have it loaded up with 8x18's. Think it would have sold a heck of a lot better bundled with the 4 mag extension pack or with 4x12's.

That's what slings and weights are for though :p I have the benefit of being naturally strong to be fair though....

When I say it isn't as unwieldy as it looks, I might need to add i am also a larger build chap! Might not be the case for smaller folk. But it was designed for 8 year olds so it can't be too bad.

I can't help but think it would be much more appealing full auto.

From my UFO pile, (un finished object)

It's called the Hailstriker.

Mount that pusher mech = 144 dart insanity.
OldNoob

The plan was for pump action mag changes and the back half of the RS to provide the FA function!

Nice concept! I'm more of a heavy gunner top handle guy myself... The main design idea behind my latest build   Twisted Evil

When are you going to finish that ON? I would love to see the final product and I think it would be a completely original mod.
OldNoob

The whole thing ran into three problems, money, time and lack of impetus. At the end of it I will have something big and unwieldy that will hang on the wall. Plus I have been making an average of 1 blaster per month for other people since November 14!
