Getting into my Stryfe

So I'm wanting to dive into my first mod and upgrade the internals of my Stryfe, but I had a few questions which I haven't found the answers for in my travels.

I want to keep to a 2S Lipo so I don't have to alter the shell too much and plan on getting the BSUK wiring kit to handle it.

I can't find any decent 130 motors anywhere that aren't out of stock or overseas, the closest I could find are these things on eBay but given the price I'm assuming they're naff?  Are there any other options?

And the second part of the question would be, if I can't get any motors is it still worth doing the battery and wiring upgrade with the stock motors or will it overkill them?

I'm thinking the best thing might be a bit of patience to get some Rhinos, but wanted to be sure!

Stock Nerf motors can run a 2S fine and get about 95fps without them being murdered by the voltage.

If you have the money, you could buy 2 black pigs. These are the best 130 motors available for Nerf currently and they run off a 2S LiPo.

Buychina link to them.

Those are nice, I did come across those but they are slightly out of my price range for now.

Thanks for confirming that stocks will handle a 2S fine though, I will be pretty content with ~95fps until I can upgrade the motors!

Blaster smiths have MTB honeybadgers which are better than stock, only 5 each and will put you at 105fps with stock wheels or 120fps with workers. A bit hot compared to pigs but much less cost.

Ah, I totally forgot about the Honeybadgers, those seem like they would be the best fit for me right now. I will probably pick some up at the end of the month when I get the wiring too - and my Lipo is in the mail so that would mean I get to fully upgrade a lot sooner.

These are the correct Worker flywheels, right?
FDT OldNoob

Yes those are the ones. Be sure to fit them hot (warm with hairdryer) exactly in the middle of the cage and trim a bit off the feed ramps in the cage before fitting. Honeybadgers can be push fitted into the Stryfe cage if you heat the motor wells up with your hairdryer. No need to shave the ribs. Be sure to fit the mod motors the right way round. Right hand motor red dot forward, left hand motor red dot back = positive wire at front, negative at the back. Sides quoted with cage facing away from the user, barrel end forward.

Really appreciate the advice, thanks, will have to do a lot of reading up on wiring and stuff before all my bits arrive.
FDT OldNoob

Most of that stuff isn't in any mod guides. Feel free to ask questions as you get them, first rewire can be confusing.

Practice your soldering techniques if you're not already familiar with soldering. I recently rewired two blasters, and though I can solder, it's been a few years since I last did it; I really struggled to hold everything in place and manage to solder.

Also, a quick reference wiring diagram/screenshot of a completed rewired blaster really helps, rather than trying to solder along with a YouTube video!
Kleggt

Yep definitely, I have a rather ancient soldering iron of questionable integrity so I may invest in a new one to practice with.
FDT OldNoob

This one is superb, only iron you need.

Just got one of these, my soldering hasn't dramatically improved so yeah, I'm just crap.
FDT OldNoob

TBR, you need to change solder. Use this and a separate flux.

Worth a shot, thanks!
