Non-slamfire trigger mechs

What would happen if you were to force open the trigger mech for a Non-slamfire blaster?  Like, erm, picking a name out the air, a cycloneshock? Or would it vary depending on blaster?

Most of them simply won't fully cock when you do that, the minute you let go of the priming mechanism the plunger just moves forward. It won't work like slamfire because you won't release the priming mechanism cleanly like the slamfire mechanism. Also locks usually prevent this.
Fanning or spamfiring is usually a good way to miss with several darts rather than hit with one.

Okay,  please be gentle because I only learned the definition of 'cam'  this morning,  however would something like this...

.. Work?

Nice drawing of a cam, no idea how you are trying to apply it to non slamfire blasters.

Future project,  but I like the idea of a Cycloneshock shotgun/spam cannon with the elite turret part as a masterkey. I think it'd look great, but I really dislike masterkey's that have a trigger/can't be operated with one hand and I especially don't like the look of pistols because they look very much like pistols glued to primaries upside down and cycloneshocks don't have slam fire.  But I want one. Hence the question about the triggers.  So taking on board what you were saying about the the clean release I thought up this mechanism on the way to work..  Then I researched the mechanism and found out what it was called..  So just to be clear..  I invented the cam.

Anyway,  do you think it would work as a trigger mech,  with two cams pulling back a primer slide then letting them go at the same time? With a side grip you could crank out spam like an organ grinder. Maybe..  I just invented it..  I don't know whether it would work Smile

Not entirely  because slamfire allows momentary cocking if the blaster with a release, a cam will still not produce the same action in a non slamfire blaster. It will be better than trying to hand release the slide.
I am probably the worst person to answer this question though, as these kind of mods are my least favourite thing, so I tend not to devote any time to solving them.
My advice is to just go and buy the blaster and get it apart. Nobody made a mod by thinking about it! I tend to find solutions that didn't occur to me when I can see the mechanism and how it functions laid out.

Yeah I was thinking a notch in the exterior and a latch on top that catches it in the direction the spring would be trying to pull would allow you to hold it a primed state,  though if you were using it as your fore grip it would likely accidentally fire quite often unless you had a second locking latch to avoid the motion that set it off,  that'd probably work.  I've got no idea how I'd manufacture it or what material I could get away with using.

Thanks for your help

A sheet material like ABS or similar high strength plastic, cut on a laser cutter, or Aluminium sheet cut and filed to shape. You can cut and file ABS too. Likewise a water jet cutter will make it really nicely in aluminium.
