When Ctrl/Alt/Del fails

If you are a certain type of person, you do this instead then go out and buy a Mac.
ScoutsIX-3

BITE YOUR TONGUE! You couldn't pay me to use a Mac as my personal computer.

Also, this article is woefully inaccurate. Ctl+Alt+Dlt does not restart your PC. It doesn't even open the Task Manager in Windows 7 and above.
OldNoob

Coudnt resist some PC owner trolololing!
Still made me laugh though.
No wonder the guy had problems, he couldn't even use the logical and established restart combination!

Oh GAWD ON you'll start a pc vs mac debate.

Sent from my Mac.

Droid (since 4.2) is better for everything other than actual work.  I to have often wanted ro kill PCs on many occasions and genrally swear at one whenever I have ro use one, but my wifes ipad seems to be as annoying to her at times as well.

Sent on my droid phone.

Regarding the article: BAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAHHHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!

Regarding Mac v PC V Linux:
I use all 3.
Mac at work. (Kinda have to, working for the fruit factory. Have to be circumspect.)
PC for gaming at home.
Linux for serious work.

I r compootar neeerrrrrd…

I'll say this. If you have to use a computer for everyday work, OS X is fairly easy and doesn't actually break workflow.

If you're a programmer though, get thine booty to linux.
SSGT

He didn't try holding the power button or even just unplugging? Not even a hefty thwack with the side of a fist?

I'm mostly a PC user mainly because I can't get everything done that I need to on Mac or Linux (most engineering specific programs are Windows only). I do have a Live Linux USB so I can bring a familiar desktop with me or boot into it if anything happens to my Windows install and I don't have time to fix it (or for testing to see if the problem is a hardware or software fault). If it corrupts and will no longer boot, but I've got a report that needs finishing urgently, I can just boot into Linux and finish the document there. If I had a larger SSD I'd probably dual boot Linux aswell.

Reminds me of the scene from Zoolander when Derek and Hansel throw the Mac on the floor as they are too stupid to 'find the file'

That sums up my approach to computing.

This seems unfair, nobody complains if you shoot a Terminator, it's basically the same thing. Next you'll be saying we're not allowed to shoot at Steven Hawking.

Last time I checked even Apple weren't actively trying to kill every last human on the planet.

See even Macs can be complex to some , I fail to see how anyone can use Windows 8 without wanting to throw it out of the window.
Big_Poppa_Nerf.

As an IT Techie, I feel the need to throw in my 2p.

I feel this was slightly overkill.

What he should have done was start with a hammer.

Should that fail, a sledge hammer or crowbar would be the next step.

Then, if that doesn't fix it, that's when you move to firearms!

Pfft.... Amateur!

As a former licenced explosive holder, big bangs are still my favorite. Nowadays blowing things up  even for fun gets you in lots of trouble though.

First Rule of Tech Support (and Nerf repair): Don't force it. Find a bigger hammer.
