Looks great fun. I really need to get my backside in gear and get along to one of these, seeing as I'm just down the road.

Great fun! Thanks for all the hard work setting this up and the great venue, and mmm donuts!

Kids can't wait to get Christmas out of the way, bring on January! If you guys are up for some Bristol pew at the weekend on a dry day some time beforehand let us know!

at which point we ran out of Red and Blue tape (actually that happened earlier, and we had some Greens and Whites wandering around too). So we became Green and White Teams - for the next time we are going to be working on a better way of doing team identification... that is probably the biggest take away from the event.

Would be happy to stump up extra subs for some cheap reversible team bands next time, it got very confusing!

I think for the Bomb games we were all too close to and inline with, the spawn points, so to plant the bomb you needed to defeat the defending squad as well as all the respawners!

Capture the flag and capture the core is something the kids love to play in the park with Nerf guns, not sure if some variation of that would be any good at a larger scale?

We use cut up strips of bed sheets for team id's, which works well (all praise goes to Old_man_nerf for the idea) though you still get the odd issue with it. I'd like proper training bibs by the cost is prohibitive.

BombRun is a game type that we still haven't got right, like you say, the chapels can have a very fast style of play via the corridors making a line, and you having to defeat defenders and respawners. One option we've tried that helps is to have the respawn separate to the teams bomb point. We've found it usually comes down to the team that can attack and big down most of the other team, while younger faster players grab the bombs and go.

You're doing great though, and hitting similar issues that we did, and coming up with ways to handle them, so we'll done!

Agreed, Bomb run is being redesigned and Bomb run 2.0 will be played next time. Bases will be further from respawns and I'm tweaking the rules a bit.

I want to give capture the flag / core a go too. I'll add it to the list for next time. We could put the flags starting position right in the center of the gym.

I had another idea for your bomb run issues, give each side 3 bombs, starting in their "base" bucket. If they drop the bomb or get tagged carrying it, it's out of play. That way you could try wave assaults etc with multiple bombers.
Bed sheet ID's is a good idea. I found two spinnakers for you guys to have instead of more dust sheets as well. Plus CTF never works, avoid it.

BGUK - That is a very good idea about the sheets, we will have to give that a go.

ON - Again another good idea regarding the 3 bombs. We could try it next time and see how it runs.
Also,  thanks for the spinnakers! Do you want anything for them?

Would anyone be interested in a indoor-war/mod-party at the chapel or another location.

As the days are getting shorter and it is getting colder outside I think this would be an ideal compromise. Question

Bandanas for team ID can be had for about 50p each, you just have to buy a lot to get that price. I'll try and find out what supplier was used when my uni society got headbands. The two I've found right now have minimum orders of over 50...
