Post UK Nerf Location Database  Reply with quote
I thought I'd dust this old thing off and give it a new lease of life since it is quite a powerful tool for us.

UK Nerf Location Database

This map shows the locations of other nerfers across the country. If you are organising a war (or want to), this is a very powerful tool that will enable you to contact the other nerfers in your area. Where possible, you should always try to arrange wars through Britnerf but this map will give you an idea of who might be able to attend.

To add/edit your details on the map you must have a google account.

Click the 'EDIT' button on the left.

Click 'Add a placemark' icon in the top left of the map.

Drop a BLUE placemark on your rough location and enter your name and any other details you wish.

Please note that this map is public. ANYONE is able to view this map so don't placemark your exact location and don't enter any personal details.

Use it at your own risk. eware the perils of the internet folks.[/url]

Can we get a seperate icon for organisations? There are a number of HvZ and Assassins groups out there that won't have members on here but would love to hear from people interested in Nerfing in their local areas. That and when it comes around to Fresher's Fair again Very Happy

Why not.

When you edit the map, choose a different colour for HvZ or whatever and update the 'key' in the left column with the marker colour.

If you could spread this around your contacts we can really build this up.

I put BUZAN in as teal since it seemed sufficently distinct (that and yellow was taken!) from the blue individual markers. DarkSun, might I suggest you do something similar for your group?

Meta-question: can you necro a sticky? That sounds so very wrong...

Anyway, I'm bored at work (yes, Blastersmiths isn't all about shooting your co-workers, we do serious things too) and have been looking at this. We have a roster of Assassins Guilds, HvZ groups and the likes we use for marketing purposes - would it be worth putting them up using the teal label or am I getting too ahead of myself? Better yet, we could re-designate a colour to be student specific groups. Just a suggestion.

Ok, I'll get back to work... Smile

That would be super useful to get an idea of how many Unis have HvZ/Guilds Smile

I'm going to overhaul this to make it a bit more useful - hit me with a stick if you don't like and I'll revert it back. Smile

I'm going for student groups in Teal  and LARP/Open groups in Purple to begin with and then I'll go from there.

It looks like this map has been a bit unloved of late. Can all new members update the map with their approximate location if you have not yet done so.

Oh yeah, I forgot this existed. I've taken the liberty of moving Green Cloaks to their new home in East Sussex. Smile

Hail Cthulu, arise thread and wreak your vengeance.

Map working for me, also FWA added!

EDIT- some points have been moved around or gone, now I look more closely. Could some geographically predjudiced scallywags be to blame?

A whole bunch of the ones in the Bristol area look like they've been thrown around the place. I can't see BUZAN and the like.
