Don't worry Nerfinator, your pic of the Cathedral prompted me to research the spire. That counts as pretty darn interesting in my book. Feel free to resubmit a picture if you think you can crank up the awesome.

It should be noted that we're still looking for 'interesting', we've just broadened the subject matter. Landmarks are still a great subject for a picture.

Just packed up the big bag o' guns for tomorrow morning. Smile

EDIT:

I call this: Derping in the Fog:

For the full version and effect, click here.

Yes, that's the Clifton Suspension Bridge in the early morning fog with the BSUK team. We got up at 6am to take this picture and it's the last one we managed before we came home. I've (centre) just shot my other half who's taking the photo with that Strongarm I'm holding. The other two are reminding me that I'm about to experience great, great pain (and they're clearly enjoying the thought(. We went for the moody, gloomy effect because the blasters stand out quite nicely against it. If you look carefully, you'll also see some BSUK gear, too. Smile

This is me at abbington park in northampton not sure if it counts as a landmark ? It has been around for a long time in one form or another even mentioned in the domesday book in 1086,apart from that it would be a great place for a Nerf war lots of varied areas from open to wooded, lakes and best of all free parking all around the park.

2 days to go!

You've only got this weekend to get your entries in. The competition closes at 23.59 on Monday.

You've still got this weekend to get out there and get snapping!

Remember SHORT controlled bursts

Not easy to see but to my left in the gap next to trees in the distance you can just see the peak of East Lomond Hill,
A 1512ft Volcanic Mountain which has a rich history and on a clear day from on top of the Volcano  Shocked you can see for miles and miles,  the Highlands to the north and the Borders to the south, it is also around 350 million years old  Shocked so this bad boy was 280+ million years old when the Dinosaur's died out

I'm 6'2" and my misses is 5'1" so when she took the photo you can barely see the peak  Embarassed

That's my youngest Daughters with me with Clare on my leg (11months) helping me to cock the Centurion,
The other little girl is Alice (three years old) she is holding her favourite Nerf blaster the new Heartbreaker Bow

Oh and by way the Centurion is a HUGE blaster its just that I'm a Mahoosive guy. so it looks a bit small  Laughing

Of course! Last minute is the only way.  Very Happy

(Click on the image for a larger version.)

Quite obvious really, it's the Angel of the North (albeit with an ugly great northerner in DPM jacket, trousers, bush hat and webbing, along with a face full of cam cream to match  Very Happy ).

Work began on the Angel in the year I was born (1994) and finished February 1998. It's as tall as four double decker buses, and has a larger wingspan than a Boeing 767. The rusty appearance is actually a feature of the type of steel used to construct the sculpture, which was developed to form an outer layer of corrosion to protect the rest of the steel beneath from any further decay (similar to the effect of aluminium oxide forming on the surface of aluminium).

The northerner is carrying a Rayven, an EAT, a Strongarm, a Triad and a few 12/18/35 mags/drums and a hexi-cooker, just in case. Razz

Unfortunately that speedloader doesn't work with Nerf mags.

Competition Closed

Thank you to all that entered for all of your support. Our members are what makes our forum awesome. Good luck everybody!

Now excuse us as Scouts and I retire to a quiet room to choose the winners. When the smoke changes colour we will have reached our decision.

After much deliberation, Scouts and I have emerged from our locked room, confident that we have chosen our winners. Although there weren't many entries, we thought that the effort you guys put in was above and beyond what we expected. Thank you to all that entered for showing your support and showing us your lovely pictures. Our members are what makes this forum great.

So without any further ado, on to the winners!

*Drum Roll*

In first place, with first pick from the kitty is...

SSGT

His simply breathtaking picture of 'The Angel of the North' really caught our eye. We can only wonder what the tourists thought of him in his tatical gear.

http://britnerf.co.uk/sutra7966.php#7966

In Second place we have...

Nerfinator

His picture of this bizarre Cathedral spire was not the thing that clinched it for him. Instead we had respect for the size of his stones. It takes a real man to go out in public with a Speedload 6.

http://britnerf.co.uk/sutra6633.php#6633

Finally, a round of applause for...

Boff, CarrierII and Spud
(Otherwise known as the BSUK team)

Their decision contrast the blasters against the early morning fog meant they had to get up at 6am (same as I do every day). I'm not sure if the desired contrast was the main reason for the early morning. My guess is they wanted to take the picture when no one would be there to see them! Either way, it's a great photo.

http://britnerf.co.uk/sutra7770.php#7770

I will be contacting all of the winners in turn so that they can take their pic of the kitty.

A big thankyou to all of the entrants that didn't win. You guys will be receiving an Elite Jolt just for being awesome.

We went for the early start because we were hoping for a nice sunrise but instead had to manage with the fog. The security guards on the bridge were very bemused at our presence! Very Happy We'll pick up the Hail-Fire at BAGW (since I'm figuring the RS will have already gone by then! Very Happy)

Well done guys, I loved the winning shots too, big respect for roaming around dressed like a Nerf toting loon! As for getting up at 6, that has to be a first for (ex) students?

Hey! I resent that remark! I'm manning the BSUK office from 7:30am every morning! Sometimes even earlier! Admittedly, we're not your average students but still, I resent the implication! Razz
