Hi everyone

I'm John, I'm a 33 year old electrician from Rochester, completely new to Nerf my experience to date is firing 2 or 3 darts from a friends blaster as a kid lol.

Thought Nerf would be a fun alternative to paintball and airsoft. Love the fact that there is a whole community of people on here that have a shared interest and are quick to help those like me that are new to it all.

Looking forward to chatting and getting to know as many of you as possible.

Welcome! You should check the Nerf war section out and see if there is a war near you. By the end of the day you will have much more experience than firing a few darts. Don't worry if you don't have a blaster there are often allot of loaners on the day.

Enjoy!

Hi,

I'm Mikko, 37, and I'm from Finland. About a year ago I somehow got into my head that flinging foam would be fun. I wasn't aware of any organized games around these parts, so I bought a bunch of blasters and I've been playing with friends in a school gym. Mostly just war with covers, but also a few tactical scenarios, and even with the lights out using glow darts (it's awesome).

I've done some spring replacements, and for flywheel blasters we've been using 2x IMR, but now I'm slowly getting into modding more. Not really looking to up the FPS for our group though, 80-100 is plenty for close range, and I don't want there to be a huge performance gap between springers and flywheel blasters.

Anyway, happy to be on board, and looking forward to sharing my mods with you. Very Happy

Cheers,
Mikko

Hi all,

Thought I would re-introduce my self (in the correct thread) and as my last attempt was done on my phone which deleted my 1st attempt i would try again! This time i am sitting comfortably at my desk at work without my 5 month year old daughter on my lap!

so here goes, take 3:

My Nerf obsession/addiction started about a year ago when we went on holiday to Florida. We stayed in on of these holiday villas with 8 other people. One day we went shopping in 'Target', where myself and another of the Man children stumbled across the Nerf section. As our eyes studied the range of weapons our excitement grew! There was no way we were leaving with out some, next task was to convince the W.A.G's that we should spend some of our hard earned on them. After much begging and pleading we did, and they agreed that we should buy extras for other house mates, RESULT!!! So we left with a Strong Arm, a Firestrike and a pair of Triads. when we returned to the villa war broke out, where grown men could be seen doing sliding on their knees and doing tactical rolls etc. Before leaving the US we returned to target one more time and between us bought a Retaliator, a Rough cut and a Demolisher.

Once back in the UK I started my internet research, as i discovered Mods, paint jobs and integrations i became hooked. so i painted and modded my Strong arm and Retaliator. Next i decided i wanted to get into flywheel blasters so purchased a Stryfe, my collection has grown from there.

to date my collection is:

2 Strong arm      (1 painted and modded 1 standard)
1 Retaliator        (BSUK Spring, painted AR removed)
3 Recons            (1 ar removed, 2 standard)
4 Stryfe             (3 re-wired with MTB Rhinos running on 3s. 1 "untamperd" with for the woman)
1 Raider             (only bought for stock and drum, performance is shocking)
3 Rapid Strike     (1 BSUK switch kit, rewired with MTB Rhino's, std pusher. 2 waiting for mods)
2 Triad               (1 painted other standard)
1 Alpher trooper  (AR +locks removed)
1 Longshot          (Painted, AR removed)
1 Long strike       (basic mods + paint ongoing project)
1 Stampede        (Rewired, AR removed, runs on 3s needs spring upgrade)
1 Centurion         (dunno what to do with this thing)
1 Modulus           (awaiting re wire)
1 Barricade          (un modded
1 Stockade          (barricade motors and cage, rewire and rev switch installed)

So a little about myself, I'm a 31 year old man child. I work at a university as a machine shop Technician.

I'm looking forward to contributing to the community.

(i may add to this later, but i better do some work now Wink )

Buggered up first time and fired this in the wrong place. So here it is again!

Just a quick one to introduce myself a bit.

I got into Nerf stuff a few years back when my parents planned to get my little brothers (MUCH littler) a stryfe each.
I scored myself a recon on ebay for £11 and i was hooked. My little brothers where too but i think it was more me.

I've ended up with a modest arsenal of these things now and i figured it would be best to do more with them than the occasional "across the living room" battle...and using them to pester the better half didn't quite fill the void.

So - the said arsenal consists of:

Rapidstrike XD (stock)
Strongarm (AR removed)
Firestrike (ar removed)
Magnus (zombiestrike one, stock)
Rotofury(stock)

The better half has a magnus, cycloneshock and a centurion...bought to retaliate to my pestering.

If i'm missing any essential weapons please let me know haha. Currently not got any tacticool gear

Looking to learn a bit more about well...all things Nerf? And get myself (and my brothers) into an event or two, even if it's a bog standard deathmatch.

As my name implies i'm in Carlisle so no local events sadly...but if things go well, i might try change this!

As an aside - I've recently learnt that I can build SQL servers and applications to work with them...so if you guys need a database putting together for the site (game locations, areas, leader boards, etc) just let me know and i'll see what i can do.

Thanks for reading

And thanks for mentioning the game 90 mins away. Might take a look at that.

Looks pretty good! Might see if i can drag my little brothers up there.

Quick question - are there any restraints on ammo? I have mostly Koosh darts (might not be great against the kids!) but I can grab some standard darts if needed.

Again, thanks for pointing this out.

No worries, all ammo is provided, (apart from mega) all you need are your blasters and eye protection, plenty of energy and a sense of fun.
Modded stuff is fine too, just be sensible  (ish) 😜

Hi, I'm a 37 year old little boy from Devon. I've been into Nerf guns since I found them about ten years ago and realised they were the toy I wish had been around when I was a kid. My 9yo son has always quite enjoyed Nerf but in the last few months has really been bitten by the bug, got into modding etc, which means I can now give free rein to my inner child too. My 7yo daughter loves shooting Nerf but is less keen on being shot, so prefers to shoot at targets while the boy and I blast each other. We each have a few blasters of our own, in addition to a family arsenal.

The Boy's blasters:
Longstrike
Recon
Strongarm (spring upgrade and drop cylinder mods next on the list)
Nitefinder
Cycloneshock
N-strike Spectre
Rampage
Sledgefire

The Girl's blasters:
Rebelle 4Victory
Rebelle Secret Shot
Rebelle Guardian
Rebelle Diamondista
Vagabond.

Dad's blasters:
EAT (7kg spring, locks removed)
Vagabond
Cycloneshock (6kg spring, rebarrelled for Elites)
Doublestrike
Rebelle Five by Five (painted to look more manly, obviously!)

The family arsenal:
Longshot (spring upgraded, AR and locks removed)
Nitefinder (ditto)
2 x Sharp shot (one with spring upgrade and AR removed)
2 x Stryfe
Recon Mk II
2 x Firestrike
Rampage
Raider
2 x Alpha Trooper (one with AR removed)
Elite Spectre
Rough Cut
Stockade
Rapidstrike
Maverick
2 x EAT
Some/many Jolts.

My G/F discovered the joy of Nerf at Christmas, so she's getting a Secretshot for her birthday this weekend...

Hey guys, ZombieGavinS here...

I'm a 32 year old nerfer from Manchester, recently got into the hobby and I was hooked pretty much straight away.

I've had fun modding a couple of blasters with my oldest son and the whole family has had a few low key Nerf wars with the neighbourhood kids.

Found this forum while asking about on Reddit to see if there were any nerfers/Nerf events near me so I figured I'd join up and try and get involved in my local Nerf community (if there is one)

I can't help but think it's a great time to get into Nerf! A great blaster selection, great mods available, and lots of wars nearby.

Where in Manchester are you? There's ZHoM on the first sat of a month, Grim Up Nerf is the second Saturday over in Leeds, in a location close to the M62, and theres at least 2 decent sized groups of Nerfers in blackpool.

I'm in Worsley which is a bit of a trek from Wythenshawe but I'll definitely be getting over there at some point.

Hi all,

Good to see some of you at Bristol Blast 3!

I am a mechanical engineer from Bristol and I enjoy nerfing with my son and daughter who have the same bug! We are always up for foam madness at the weekend!

We (I) have amassed (right word I think) a large number of Nerf guns since the summer of 2014 and I have been enjoying things a bit too much.

I like shooting buying, fixing and trading Nerf blasters and discovered from my childhood hobbies of making homemade slightly dangerous firing devices, rebuilding toys,  R/C Aircraft, painting model and FPS computer gaming I appear to have found the perfect hobby!

I have recently started modding blasters, just springers so far which are nice easy and mechanical. I am also doing some complete cosmetic and internal overhauls of blasters which I feel are a missed opportunity and should have looked and fired so much better out of the box (hammershot, Deluxe TFA starwars blaster)!

Electronics is a dark art IMO.. but it is the next step.

Current project is a free but non-functional stampede, which I will either fix or it may just end up  more broken and as spare parts in some kind of horrendous borderlands [Torgue] or {Jakobs} style mash up with a cheap stampede and demolisher I picked up and various other bits..!

Then one day my lovely stock rapidstrike is going to have to go under the soldering iron.. Confused

Guilty pleasures also include mega guns.. SO CHUNKY AND SATISFYING!
