Bought 3 Nite Finders boiled two of them to get at the AR's... warped the barrels saved the final one so decided to give it a lick of paint

Also repurposed a kids tent as wind breaker and spray booth

For such a great colour combination, gold and Nerf orange is really underdone.

Tripled-Strike!

Thanks to the kind donor Dual strike I now have this beauty in a not quite finished state.

The dual strike will be donating itself for a similar mega dart variant (mock up image)

And possibly a shotgun... because look at this other mock up.

Not forgetting the singled blaster made from the dual strike and that nice looking plunger tube.

So I have had a lawbringer for FDT skatepark events but since I re barrelled my rotofury that is now my new favourite primary but wanted to do something with my lawbringer so I bought another one, minimised them, chucked in a couple of hammershot springs to beef them up and have joined them at the handles for some flip firing fun. Currently just joined with duct tape till I give it a test in battle and see if it is at all practical, it looks hilarious though Very Happy

More details on the Project Ambition thread. Actually very proud..  Though Imgur thinks it's a carrot sculpture.

Huge thanks to Rob@SBNC for the original hard work. I did a couple of cuts differently but the outcome is the same:

Got to say, this was harder than doing the rapidpistol!

Is that an actual grey trigger variant blind geek? Or is that pic from SBNC?

Thats mine. About 4 hours work. Has the blasterparts upgrade spring in as recommended by UkNerfWar and OldNoob. I'm very pleased with how its come out, especially given how difficult it was to do

After the success of my double Lawbringer I decided to give this a go, Manta Ray Style Rampage:D

Been thinking about this for a while and I'll give it a go at GUN this weekend and see how it runs. Obviously this is a rough version with just cable ties and Duct Tape but if I think it might work out Ill look at a proper integration and tune them up as there are no mods just now just completely stock Rampages. I have a cable tie between the trigger guards that is nice and tight but can be slid along to lock both triggers into slam fire mode and you can just spam a double barreled wall of foam, its awesome Very Happy

My lastest work in progress project is the last of the blasters for my mates family. Impressed by Daredevil (and having nicked it for most of an event), he wanted his own rapidstrike modded with hellcats.

But to make it different, he has given me free reign to build the shell as I wish, as long as it fits his theme of 'The Green Lantern'. so with that in mind, I sent a query to a couple of people whose opinion I value, asking whether they thought it would be feabile to cut off everything in the circled bit:

And once I got a response along the lines of 'well, its different, but I don't see why not", I decided that a snub nosed rapidstrike was possible, and really needs to be flat topped:

Of course, I'm impulsive and didn't double check my cuts first, and ended up with this:

Where the flat-top point is below the flywheels cage. OldNoob assures me this is normal, and just needs building up before the flat-top is added.

Next up was the obvious addition of green xmas leds activated by the jam door. But why just have these in the jam door area, when theres 4 wonderful cuts in the barrel that could be lit:

Finally, for the main body work, I decided to fill in the sharks teeth. Again, OldNoob gave me great advice on this, and these were fairly easy:

in terms of body work, I have to build the flattop, and fit the flared jase3d magwell from the bulk order when it arrives, and then the blaster is getting a grey primer, and a main coat in this, a wonderful shiny light green (with the existing grey bits staying as is, and the 3d bits down in the dark green of the camo blaster):

Electrical work on this will be modular flywheel cage, modular pusher cage, mosfet, and obviously the leds. Unfortunately I have literally run out of solder while finishing the the modular flywheel cage.

Got to say, I've realised I just posted a good looking wip to a public space, how long till Drac rips it off and calims the design as his own Smile

Edit/Update:
Last nights mod work was to start the flat-top, and start sanding away the digi-camo. I finished one sides flat-top and the other sides sanding.

Another Update
With the jase3d parts picked up, and both sides sanded down, I decided it was time to reassemble it to see how it was looking... mighty damn fine if I do say so myself.

Final Update
With the exterior work all done, I had an enforced break from this blaster over xmas due to pneumonia. I went back to it last night, and did all the interior soldering, finishing a mosfet, modular cage wiring loom in roughly 3 hours. There was a bit of a crisis near the start, where I literally could not remember how to solder, but I perservered.

Couple of important notes - mak sure yur diode is the right way round (Boff told me its the opposite way to the expect, and that helped me), and more importantly, that your mosfet is the right way round - I twsited mine at some point and it wouldn't work.

I also over tightened my flywheel cage screws, and this meant the flywheels couldn't spin as efficiently as normal.

Decided I definitely needed some painting practice before working on my Stryfe, so took apart one of my Strongarms.

First couple attempts at spray paint did not work out very well, I think more to do with having the wrong kind of paints and a bit of impatience on my part, so this as a few layers of failure underneath it.

Currently on the undercoat stage, getting the basic colours set in before highlights and detailing, I'm content enough with the scheme but not sure about the dull matt effect I'm getting from these acrylic paints.

What I've been mucking about with over the last few days

Proved to be an unexpectedly large hassle- the Jase3D motor cage I'm using is gorgeous but it's designed around the stock cage's flywheel/motor cant, so it expects the butt of the motors to be offset too. It does go but it took a lot of very careful shell editing, it must be paper thin in a couple of spots (using the trick of cutting with a bright light on the other side so you can tell when it gets thin). Lining up a flywheel cage in a new shell is a pain in the ass even when it's not this tight so I ended up plastic welding the first 2 posts in so I could easily move them with heat. Very ugly but strong like ox.
