Post Blaster Chrono Readings  Reply with quote
Hi guys, I'm looking for a comprehensive list of chrono readings for stock blasters. I've tried compiling my own but I'm missing values for the Stockade and Elite Spectre.

Can anyone point me towards a spreadsheet or give me 6 readings for the above blasters?

Cheers in advance.

There's an archive of Stock blaster Chrono data here in the Modifications section under "OldNoob Foam Data".

It doesn't include the Stockade or Elite Spectre unfortunately but, if you've got data for blasters that aren't listed there, it might be worth adding them for completeness. In general all Elite blasters perform about the same stock anyway (around 65-70fps with the odd blaster doing better or worse than that).

If you have them send them to me and I will do them for free. Stockade will be about 5 FPS less average than the Stryfe and the Hipster/Spectre will be One or 2  FPS shy of a Strongarm and a bit better than an average Hammershot by the same amount, but only with the barrel off.

Thanks for the offer but I never have actually owned those blasters. I also don't know many people who do, which is part of the problem...

This is the terrible spreadsheet that I have put together so far.

Can anyone improve it?

Where are the figures from? The easiest way would be to simply have all the blasters, with the average, standard deviation and if people wanted more the min and max. The data only has meaning if it was collected in a similar way, e,g, minimum 30 shots, new Elite darts.
Here is the current test process

This ensures you are making a fair comparison between performances. Otherwise you are simply quoting random numbers.

EDIT

Topic Moved to Chrono Forum

Scientific method would be fantastic up to 30 shots. I'm really surprised that the data hasn't been completely collected in any form though.

The spreadsheet simply shows 6 stock tests with new elite darts.

The only reason I collected this is because I can't find a comprehensive list of average FPS performance for every Rebelle / Elite / Zombie Strike / Mega, although I do see you have started making a list, is it possible for this to be expanded and averages put into 1 sheet for FPS comparison?

I don't have a chronometer so I have so far been relying on information provided by other people where averages have been recorded in the same way.

Is there anyway that someone with the resources can provide the forum with an average of FPS for every recent stock blaster?

So what you are saying is that the tests listed in there may or may not be a standard format and there is no link to the original data? If so then its not strictly comparable and we try to always use data we collect ourselves, crediting individuals tests.

I will get on a single spread sheet of all the stock blasters, but its very boring as they are all designed to meet the same toy legislation and any Elite blaster is going to be pretty much the same. I do the tests to stuff people mod so they can see if there was any gain when they modded it.

You're absolutely right it's boring and theoretical as hell so thank you very much.

For my personal purposes the data would be for use as an example for a university society, mostly with members with little to no knowledge about the blasters performance. The society also imposes strict leg. on what can't be used hence why stock data would be useful; every variation in FPS would count.

Having said that, the audience for stock data in the uni society terms is not a small one at my end.

It would also obviously and absolutely be useful for modders to see a comprehensive list of all stock blasters for comparative performance.

The Uni angle is a good one. Just a reminder that I can do deals for chrono hire for uni socs as well as data. I will get it done from the data on here. Expect a post by the end of the month.
