...worse than a stock Deploy.

Data is here.

No, seriously. It's horrendous, I can rapid fire ours to a stall within 4 shots. Take a look at the blog post, too. If we don't get around to upgrading this before Jamboree, I'm entering it in the awfuls round.

Thanks for that Boff. I will see if I can get a different one over the chrono on Elites after Jamboree to see if the derp is yours or the blasters. Sad the stocks are both horrible, but you could see they were going to suck as soon as we saw it was a redesigned Recon stock and a blaster in a stock is only ever going to appeal to children. If they would just re release the raider stock separately we would all be happy.

The stock that comes with the blaster seems easily upgraded, mind, same deal as a recon- remove bendy plastic, replace with alu tube or bar, tweak for length... The gaps around the stock are terrible though, that's just pure bad design/carelessness.

TBF it's ridiculous that they've not got the aesthetics of barrels and stocks better- just a little bit of shell shape standardisation would give much better lines, but instead they come along with different shell heights and gaps at the back, all manner of nose shapes, the demolisher frinstance has a great shape but almost all barrels look daft on it... It's like nobody ever puts the bits together in the design process. But especially with the Modulus where the stock THAT COMES WITH THE BLASTER has terrible shut lines etc and looks like it's off a different toy.

The performance seems lower than reported elsewhere, after all it's a stryfe with a wee bit more faux barrel, right?

I got my Modulus from Bankcroft.de. I was surpised actually as it seemed to perform better than my Stryfe.

Possibly you got a bad one?

It's entirely possible we got a lemon. I'll wait and see if others can replicate my results. Smile

As I point out in the blog post, it's not really a problem that it performs like a sack of shite out of the box since we can drop some Rhinos and a 3S in there to solve the problem.

My results are in and on the stock database . Interesting to look at, mainly because you can see the voltage sagging in the power supply after the first 10 or so shots. I wonder if this is the result of increased power consumption as I always use the same make of battery and other tests have not shown it so obviously!
A quick Cam vs Modulus Vs Demolisher comparison shows its actually in the middle performance wise, with the Cam being worse but not being far off the Demolisher, its nearest physical rival.
That could bode well for modding. We shall see as I am gutting it shortly! Expect a mod guide covering mosfet and new rev switch methods.

Huh, so a 10FPS difference then. Curious. I might re-chronograph ours with a set of high powered NiMH cells and see if that makes any difference in that case. I'll need to order more Koosh, in that case since I burned my lot at Jamboree. Smile

Noted. I'll drain a pint of blood out of one of the minions and flog that to afford enough Elites for testing , then. Razz At least the batteries are dirt cheap...
