With the re-release of the EAT in other countries I thought a complete sheet of common EAT mods was in order. The bloody things are very hard to compare as all have different fit and performance but I have done my best.
Here is the link for the data of all the common springs. I need to add the hard range one from Blasterparts to the list as well if anyone has one.
The Rampatrooper was somewhat inconclusive, I had to add a 3mm spacer to the plunger head which added a tiny bit of mass and shaved 3mm off the right side of the bolt.but it is performing quite a bit under the other blasters. It is exactly the same one I used in my Hobbymods test, with only the priming rod, fluted barrel and spring altered.
I may try a rifled barrel in it again to see whats going on there. It was very reliable though and shoots Koosh fine.

I'll send you an EAT Hard Range kit in my next care package.

This thread is old but this forum is MINE....

Now thats out the way, i added the Blasterparts Hard range kit to the everything EAT list and the single data is here as well if people want to see it. I was pretty underwhelmed by the performance and the catch fit was not as good as Hobbymods or BSUK's ones. I also found the uprated priming rod to not be bent to the correct radius where it mounts to the bolt carrier, forcing it out of alignment and rubbing against the shell.
With this in mind i wouldn't recommend the Blasterparts kit. The spring is probably OK, but the EAT is a bad platform for it TBH and the extras in this kit were nicely made but poorly fitted. I still maintain the 5kg EAT spring is the best one right now, and Oznerf has the best kit. The BSUK one I haven't had to fully test but i am sure it will be up to their usual standard and we can all furiously bash them if it isn't.

I found the same thing. Out of the 10 or so I have installed there has been only one that went in flawlessly. All of the others needed a tweak or two. Removing the AR helps a bunch but I prefer not to do that for extra robustness.

Once again OzNerf is the guy to beat when it comes to kits.

I really expected better from this kit, I was hoping to get mid to high 90's out of it. If anyone else has one and could test it that would help broaden the data pool a bit. The EAT is such a flimsy beast that no two stock ones shoot much alike and certainly with any consistency. The weird thing was that I used exactly the same blaster for the OMW and Blasterparts testsm no changes at all in between apart from a little use. My son couldn't prime it with the Blasterparts kit in, yet it shot worse. I am going to try the spring in my S3 Retal though.

Better jump in....

As you know (Tom/Kevin), I've upgraded the kit to use a high tech crystalline PLA compound (so I'm told, I just like to call it "good shit").

This stuff is ridiculously strong and prints superbly after some special tweaks to my equipment, and is gaining a rep as a genuine nylon alternative without all the dramas associated with nylon.

I acknowledge there has been the occasional issue with delamination of the catch plate in the past, and with ABS you can be forgiven for wondering what the Chinese threw in the plastic melt pot that batch.

No extra cost to the buyer and much better longevity.

As well as the possibility of new products like gears...

Thanks Neal, you will note your spring beat "ze Germans" one on test, despite having a lower rating!

As I've always said Tom,

It's not the size, but the way you use it...

So we did some analysis on the EAT data. We were happy to see that ours and OZNN springs came out on top.

CarrierII is in tears of joy at the histogram coming from the Blasterparts kit. It's an inverse normal curve which is fantastic (apparently). You're supposed to get a curve looking like this, it looks like BP's kit is so far out that it's not even drunk.

EDIT: Do you still have the platform with the BP kit in it? I want to see if we can re-produce this. Seriously. Neither of us can see any kind of mechanical reason for those results.

I can post you the kit, the blaster became the Rampatrooper or was minions. Can't remember which!
