Post Rayven or Stockade flywheels for RS  Reply with quote
I know from reading/searching around the forum that Rapid Strike flywheels are bad, and ought to be replaced. I have a Stockade and a N-strike Rayven available as donors, which of these would be the better choice? I think from the information below that the stockade is right, but just wanted confirmation.

Rayven wheels are not as good as Stryfe
Avoid RS ones (flywheels) as they are rubbish!
The RS Flywheels are not suitable for mod use, being always bent, unbalanced and generally crap
I used Stockade flywheels. The RS ones are all awful

I'd go with Stockade flywheels. Rayven flys are nice but the bore is slightly larger diameter resulting in a slightly looser interference fit on the motor shaft. As such Rayven flywheels are more likely to move around/along the motor shaft in use.

How would Barricade flywheels (and motors) rate on the list? I've got both a Barricade and a Rayven that I'm about to embark on a project with tonight, but wondered which I should use.

Barricade flywheels are too small for elites and serrated, in the skip for them I am afraid, and before anyone mentions it, wrapping them in tape is not a good idea. I have lots of flywheels if anyone needs them. I have a ton of B stock that people can have for cost of postage.

Cheers for that. I know Justajolt raves about Barricades, so wondered if they were a suitable option, or just stick with Rayven parts.

To make the Barricade useable, simply swap the flywheels for elite ones, then run a lipo and rewire with the Barricade motors. There's a guide on my youtube.
