Post Reverse Gun Game  Reply with quote
An interesting game we tested out today. One of the members suggested it and I think it would be worthwhile to share. This game will only work with small numbers and a relatively small venue.

Name: Reverse Gun Game

Overview: Every time you tag a person you “upgrade” to the next tier of blaster, and are unable to make tags until you change blaster. As you change tier your firepower drops, this is to prevent any snowballling, and allows for a closer game.

Objective: Eliminate the enemy team and “upgrade” your blaster to the last tier. The first person to make a tag with the final tier wins the game.

Number of teams: 2

Size of teams: Equal numbers, recommended size of 4 a side (depends on how many blasters are available)

Respawn: Rolling respawn system, both teams can rejoin the game every 30 seconds from their spawn locations

Equipment: Ideally for each person they should have access to every “tier” blaster. Since the time spent on each blaster is pretty short, 6 of each should be enough. For example for a team of 4 a side; a minimum of 6 roughcuts, 6 strongarms, and 6 jolts will be needed.

I personally carry a stryfe, hammershot and a jolt. So for tier 2, I borrow the group's roughcut. And I lend out my blasters to anyone that needs it.

Use the following tiers to determine what blasters people are allowed to use. Everyone starts at tier 1.
-Tier 1: Any weapon (eg. Typically personal blasters)
    -Tier 2: Shotgun (eg. Roughcut)
    -Tier 3: Pistol (eg. Strongarm)
-Tier 4: Single shot (eg. Jolts)
    -Final Tier: Throw the dart

Everytime you make a tag, you change your tier where you must change blaster before you can make any more tags. In order to win the game, you must make a tag by throwing the dart (Final Tier).

Note: we have only tried playing this game twice with 8 people, so we haven't seen all the potential problems. I really enjoyed this game mode, a bit hectic when looking for the correct blaster especially when you are far away from the spawn.
