Maybe delegate a blaster to a particular user to create the content to get the section up and running?

In Britnerf 2.0 can we sort out a more up to date player location, maybe make it so people have to at least put county in when joining.
Could also have a sub category in the Nerf wars section for those needing or offering lifts to events.

The reasons that content isn't here are-
1: As Boff has noted, it's up to users to generate content, we are only here to keep it tidy and inoffensive.
2: Any prices or links will go out of date within a week and will only be relevant to the country of origin.
3: Battery Guide sticky and Motor/Battery spreadsheet already exist, as do battery recommendations on suppliers web pages.
4: It's modding, searching for stuff and making your own mind up has always been part of the deal. If people want a completed solution then commission it or buy a kit/pre made loom. Those have been out a while.
5: The mod team have a few minor things like migrating the whole forum, Britnerf Ltd and moderating that tend to prohibit them from supplying everyone's needs from their own resources.

As OldNoob noted, we're here to facilitate content and only generate it when we have time. We're a community collective and should work together to create stuff. I completely agree that it would be awesome to have the resource dabrad89 suggested but to make it a reality, people are going to need to contribute.

If people want to start pinging me PMs then I can compile a list of threads to go in the Vault's master thread. I'm not going to start nominating people to do stuff, that's not my job. Let's do this together, folks... Smile

Is it possible to have some kind of Nerf Mod Wiki that we can all edit? So there is for example a "Stryfe Mod Guide", someone writes up a simple guide, then someone else edits it and adds more content, over time it grows as more sections added and refined as methods change etc?

"Bored at work and nothing to do (I wish), login and tidy up the Rapidstrike Mod Wiki and maybe add a section about suitable places to add a voltmeter!"

The issue I see is integrating it into the existing site as having it a seperate entity wouldn't be ideal.

Good call. I wouldn't mind writing stuff as long as it was 'peer reviewed' in draft form. I'm 75% of the way through the first section of a noob's (mine) info dump of everything I've learnt so far regarding electrical modding. I was going to stick it up to make sure I wasn't missing any salient facts.

All good suggestions. Thanks a lot guys.

I like the Wiki idea. We will definitely look into adding a Wiki of mod guides into the new site.

There is already a mandatory 'location' category in the profile field. The trouble is, users aren't particularly helpful and simply put 'England' in that field. We can only do so much. I've looked into the possibility of redoing the UK Nerf location database but I haven't really found a good solution for that. The old Google map is OK, but it's difficult to update and generally faffy.

I personally think this could get messy but I'm open to suggestions. So far we've managed pretty well requesting/offering lifts in the individual event topics.

That's why I was suggesting county, would it be possible to make a drop down box with list of counties for UK members and then a list of countries for international members?

It's a good point. I'll definitely give it some thought.
